A tragic incident unfolded in Lorton, Virginia, where a man has been charged with shooting and killing his girlfriend. The victim, identified as 38-year-old Alison “Kate” LaPorta, was brought to Mount Vernon Hospital in Hybla Valley by her boyfriend, 47-year-old Huy Tien Nguyen, around 11:35 p.m. Sadly, LaPorta succumbed to a gunshot wound to her upper body and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Initially, Nguyen claimed to Fairfax County police that the shooting occurred in a parking lot.
