Authorities in Milwaukee have pieced together a chilling case against 33-year-old Maxwell Anderson, who stands accused of the murder and dismemberment of 19-year-old Sade Robinson. The unfolding events began on April 1 when the pair went on a date, as detailed in a criminal complaint filed by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.
Utilizing a variety of sources, including text messages, witness testimonies, surveillance footage, and phone-tracking data, investigators were able to track Anderson’s movements following the date. A severed leg was discovered the day after their outing and was tentatively identified as belonging to Robinson, with distinctive painted toes, found near a 100-foot bluff at Warnimont Park.
Robinson’s family has been left devastated by the tragedy, with her grandmother declining to comment due to distress. Anderson, currently held at the Milwaukee County Jail on a $5 million bail, faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and arson.
The grim discovery of a human foot near train tracks, along with human flesh matching Robinson’s skin tone and nail polish, further solidified the case against Anderson. Investigators delved into forensic data, including text exchanges between Robinson and Anderson on the night of the date, painting a harrowing picture of events leading up to the young woman’s demise.
Surveillance footage from a seafood restaurant, where the couple initially met, captured them engaging in conversation before moving to a bar. Robinson’s phone data placed her near Anderson’s residence later that night, with further tracking revealing her phone’s presence in the park where the severed leg was discovered in the early hours of the following day.
Additional video evidence showed a figure descending towards the beach in the vicinity of the severed leg, as well as a man walking away from a burning vehicle, believed to be Robinson’s car. Anderson was apprehended during a traffic stop, with a subsequent search of his car yielding incriminating evidence, including a hooded coat matching the one seen in surveillance footage.
Milwaukee County Sheriff Denita Ball commended the diligent work of law enforcement in the case, expressing hope for justice and closure for Robinson’s loved ones. Anderson faces the prospect of a life sentence if convicted of the homicide charge, underscoring the gravity of the allegations against him..
