Authorities in Graves County, Kentucky, have successfully apprehended two individuals on Tuesday afternoon, culminating a lengthy investigation into methamphetamine trafficking operations in western Kentucky. The Graves County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with several law enforcement agencies, orchestrated the arrest of two significant drug dealers within Graves County.
The coordinated effort involved multiple agencies, including the United States Postal Inspector, sheriff’s offices from McCracken, Graves, Ballard, and Calloway Counties, municipal police departments from Paducah, Mayfield, and Murray, as well as the Paducah Office of the Drug Enforcement Administration. The joint operation aimed to dismantle drug trafficking networks operating in the region.
The investigation initially focused on the activities of 37-year-old Antonio D. Jackson, a resident of Mayfield, who was identified as a key player in the distribution of large quantities of crystal methamphetamine. Jackson was found to be receiving significant shipments of meth at his residence, subsequently dispensing the illicit substance to smaller dealers in the area. Undercover operations confirmed Jackson’s pivotal role as the primary supplier to local drug distributors.
On the day of the arrest, investigators secured warrants with the assistance of the McCracken Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and other law enforcement units. Jackson was placed under surveillance and intercepted at the intersection of KY Hwy 303 and KY 80. In an attempt to evade capture, Jackson’s vehicle collided with a law enforcement vehicle during a moving roadblock operation. Subsequently, Jackson was prevented from fleeing further, avoiding a vehicular pursuit.
Following Jackson’s apprehension, law enforcement officials discovered a substantial quantity of crystal meth in his possession along with scattered cash within the vehicle. A subsequent search of Jackson’s residence unveiled additional evidence linking him to drug trafficking activities. Additionally, authorities swiftly moved to arrest another suspect, identified as 38-year-old Ivy S. Daniels of Mayfield, at a separate location on Chris Drive.
Both Jackson and Daniels have a history of criminal convictions related to drug trafficking and possession. Jackson faces charges of felony fleeing or evading police and trafficking in excess of 10 pounds of crystal meth, while Daniels faces charges of trafficking in a first-degree controlled substance – meth (second or subsequent offense) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The cases against the arrested individuals will be referred to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Paducah for further legal action. Authorities indicate that additional suspects may face charges as the investigation progresses..
