A shocking incident has unfolded in Terre Haute, Indiana, where a man has been accused of smearing feces on the doors of the Vigo County Courthouse and City Hall, and even creating a YouTube video boasting about the crime. The suspect, identified as James D. Gaylor, 43, is now facing serious allegations of criminal mischief.
The investigation into this bizarre incident began on April 1st when Terre Haute Mayor Brandon Sakbun reported to the police that feces had been smeared on the entry to City Hall between March 30 and March 31. Upon further investigation, a YouTube Short video was discovered featuring Gaylor claiming to have witnessed someone else committing a similar act at the courthouse.
In the video, Gaylor can be seen wearing a hooded jacket that matches the description of the person caught on surveillance footage smearing what is believed to be human feces on the courthouse and City Hall doors. The video does not provide any explanation for Gaylor’s alleged actions.
Further details from the court documents reveal that Gaylor was captured on surveillance footage smearing feces on the courthouse’s north entrance door and the City Hall east side entryway. He even went as far as to warn people entering the building about the feces he had spread on the doors.
Following these shocking events, THPD Investigator recorded a video of Gaylor sitting in the courtyard between City Hall and the courthouse, shouting warnings to passersby about the feces on the doors. As a result of these disturbing actions, Gaylor has been arrested and is now facing charges of criminal mischief/attempted battery by bodily waste.
This incident has left the community in disbelief and has raised questions about the motive behind Gaylor’s actions. The authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the full extent of the damage caused by this disturbing act. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story..
