Mumbai Crime Branch arrests two suspects for firing outside Salman Khan’s residence
The Mumbai Crime Branch has made a breakthrough in the case involving the firing outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence on April 14. Two suspects have been apprehended by the police in Bhuj, Gujarat, on Monday night.
An official revealed to news agency ANI, “Both the accused, who absconded from Mumbai after the shooting incident, have been captured in Bhuj, Gujarat.”
The authorities plan to bring the two suspects back to Mumbai for further interrogation and investigation.
Details of the suspects
The arrested individuals have been identified as Vicky Sahab Gupta, aged 24, and Sagar Shrijogendra Pal, aged 21. Both suspects hail from Masihi in the West Champaran district of Bihar.
Chronology of events
The incident occurred when two unidentified men on a motorcycle fired shots outside Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments, located in Bandra, Mumbai, during the early hours of a Sunday morning. The perpetrators, who were wearing helmets and carrying bags, were caught on CCTV cameras firing towards the actor’s home.
Shortly after the shooting, Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the attack in a social media post. It is believed that the apprehended suspects are associated with Bishnoi’s criminal gang.
Lawrence Bishnoi is currently incarcerated in Tihar Jail for his involvement in various high-profile murder cases, including those of Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi and Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala.
Reaction from Salman Khan’s family
Authorities discovered that the motorcycle used in the crime belonged to an individual residing in the Panvel area of Navi Mumbai. The bike was found abandoned near the Mount Mary Church, approximately one kilometre away from Salman Khan’s residence.
Members of the Khan family expressed shock and concern over the incident. Salman’s brother, Arbaaz, took to Instagram to address the situation, emphasizing that the family was deeply disturbed by the incident and urging against misinformation circulating in the media.
