Trump says Iran ‘appears to be standing down’

President Donald Trump sought to reassure Americans after Iran carried out missile attacks on U.S. troop locations in Iraq, saying Iran “appears to be standing down” while also announcing that he would ask NATO “to become much more involved in the Middle East process.”

Trump said the U.S. suffered no casualties in the attacks and declared that he would be imposing additional sanctions on Iran.

“The American people should be extremely grateful and happy,” Trump said in a White House address.
