An urgent manhunt is underway in Lower Merion Township, Pennsylvania, after an arrest warrant was issued for a 39-year-old suspect following a tragic incident along City Avenue near St. Joseph’s University. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office has identified the wanted man as Tyreese Quinerley from Philadelphia, wanted on charges of first-degree murder and other serious offenses.
The shocking crime took place late Sunday night when Quinerley allegedly shot and killed 39-year-old Jefferson Shackford inside his van at the intersection of City Avenue and Cardinal Avenue. According to officials, Quinerley then made a false 911 call, claiming he had almost hit the victim with his car. However, upon further investigation, it became clear that the story was fabricated, and Quinerley was the prime suspect in a heinous act of violence.
Witnesses and surveillance footage have provided crucial information to law enforcement, indicating that Quinerley was driving a green Chevrolet Express van with the Pennsylvania license plate number MCR4673. The footage shows the suspect driving erratically and speeding on City Avenue before stopping at a red light at Cardinal Avenue. It was at this point that Quinerley allegedly exited the vehicle and fired two shots into Shackford’s van before dragging him out and leaving him on the sidewalk.
Further evidence, including cell phone records and eyewitness testimonies, have linked Quinerley to the crime scene. Detectives recovered a cell phone believed to belong to the suspect near where the victim was found, with records showing communication between the two phones. Additionally, a female acquaintance of Quinerley confirmed that she was in contact with him during the incident and that both men were familiar with each other from the neighborhood.
Authorities have urged the public to come forward with any information regarding Quinerley’s whereabouts, emphasizing that he should be considered armed and dangerous. The community is in shock following this senseless act of violence, and residents are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
