Former Youth Pastor Arrested for Child Pornography and Sexual Assault Charges
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) – In a shocking turn of events, the North Pole Police Department (NPPD) has announced the arrest of a former youth pastor on charges of possession of child pornography, distribution of indecent materials to minors, and multiple accounts of sexual assault. The incident, which took place on 11/27/2023, has sent shockwaves through the community.
Investigation and Suspect Identification
Following the report received by NPPD, an extensive investigation was launched, leading to the identification of three female victims. The suspect, Phillip Mathew Ross, born on 11/16/1996, was revealed to be a former youth pastor from Fairbanks, Alaska. The press release from NPPD stated that Ross was indicted by a Fairbanks Grand Jury for three counts of Sexual Assault of a Minor in the Second Degree and two counts of Distribution of Indecent Materials to Minors.
Arrest and Custody
After an intense search, Ross was located in Florida and taken into custody by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, the FBI, and the U.S. Marshals on 3/21/2024. He has since been transported back to Fairbanks, AK, to face the charges brought against him.
