Local Man Arrested for Aggravated DWI in Delmar
A 48-year-old Delmar man was arrested by Bethlehem police for aggravated DWI after officers observed him driving while intoxicated. The incident took place in Delmar, a quaint town known for its picturesque streets and friendly community.
Incident Details
On Sunday, March 31, at approximately 3:34 p.m., officers noticed the man driving his Kia SUV into a residence where he was not supposed to be. Upon approaching him, the officers observed slurred speech, watery eyes, and the smell of alcohol on his breath.
Violation of Laws
Further investigations revealed that the man did not possess a valid license, and his vehicle lacked proper registration, inspection, and insurance. At the Guilderland police station, he provided a breath sample that showed a .11 percent BAC. As a result, he was charged with aggravated DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation.
Legal Consequences
In addition to the aforementioned charges, the man was also ticketed for operating an unregistered vehicle, operating without an inspection, and operating without insurance. He was given an appearance ticket for Bethlehem Town Court on April 16 to address the charges.
Another DWAI Incident on River Road in Selkirk
In a separate incident in Selkirk, Bethlehem police responded to a property damage crash on River Road involving a 26-year-old man from Ravena. The man admitted to driving under the influence of alcohol due to poor weather conditions.
Arrest Details
The man failed field sobriety tests and tested positive for alcohol on a pre-screening device. Subsequently, he was charged with DWI and DWAI, and ticketed for leaving the scene of a property damage accident, speeding unreasonably, and failing to use a designated lane. He was given an appearance ticket for Bethlehem Town Court on April 2.
DWI Incident on Kilmer Court in Delmar
On Monday, March 25, a 39-year-old Delmar woman was arrested for DWI after failing to maintain her lane on Delaware Avenue. The woman claimed to have consumed alcohol before driving from a fire call in the Town of Bethlehem.
Legal Proceedings
The woman exhibited signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. She was charged with DWI and ticketed for an unsafe lane change. Despite refusing to provide a breath sample at the police station, she was given an appearance ticket for Bethlehem Town Court on April 2.
Arrest Made for DWAI-Drugs in Glenmont
A 46-year-old Niskayuna woman was arrested on Tuesday, April 2, for DWAI-Drugs following a multi-vehicle crash in Glenmont on Route 9W. The woman tested positive for amphetamine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl in a blood test conducted after the crash in 2021.
Legal Actions Taken
After an arrest warrant was issued, the woman was taken into custody and charged with DWAI-Drugs. She was arraigned and released on her own recognizance, with a court date set for May 7.
Intoxicated Customer Faces Two Warrants at Comfort Inn in Glenmont
In another incident at the Comfort Inn in Glenmont, a 43-year-old Albany man, Frank Richardson, was found intoxicated and agitated with hotel staff. Richardson was discovered to have a .214 percent BAC and two outstanding warrants from Albany and New York City police.
Legal Consequences
Richardson was taken into custody and handed over to Albany City South Station to address the warrants against him. The hotel staff chose not to press charges against him.
Man Arrested for DWI Faces Consequences of Missed Court Appearance in Delmar
A 54-year-old Albany man, Joseph Michasiow, was arrested for DWI in February but failed to appear in court in March. As a result, he was taken into custody by Albany police and arraigned by Bethlehem Town Judge Ryan Donovan.
Legal Proceedings
Michasiow was released on his own recognizance to return to court on May 7 for the missed appearance and the DWI charges.
Homeless Man Arrested for Larceny with Outstanding Warrants in Glenmont
On Saturday, March 30, a homeless man was arrested for petit larceny at Marshall’s in Glenmont. The man, identified as Bowie Bouchard, had outstanding warrants from Guilderland police and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in addition to the larceny charges.
Legal Actions Taken
Bouchard was charged with petit larceny and issued an appearance ticket for Bethlehem Town Court. He was then handed over to officers from Guilderland to address the outstanding warrants against him.
