The Lafayette Police Department has officially identified the two individuals who tragically lost their lives in a recent triple homicide in Lafayette. The victims have been named as Brandon Touchet, aged 45, and Eric Green, aged 49, both of whom were residents of Lafayette. The discovery of their deceased bodies took place in a residence on the 700 block of S. College Road following a welfare check that was initiated late Friday afternoon.
The distressing call that alerted authorities to the scene came in at around 5:26 PM on April 12, prompting officers to investigate the property where they uncovered the bodies of three individuals. At present, the identity of the third victim has not been disclosed as the police’s investigation continues to unfold.
In connection to the deaths, law enforcement has apprehended Chad Credeur, a 42-year-old man from Duson, LA, on suspicion of first-degree murder. Credeur is currently in custody in Jeff Davis Parish on unrelated charges as the investigation progresses.
The authorities are actively collecting evidence and information at the crime scene, urging anyone with pertinent details about the incident to reach out to the Lafayette Police Department or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
This case has taken a heartbreaking turn with the involvement of Brandon Touchet, who had been reported missing since Wednesday evening. His mother, Sandy Thomas Sanders, had taken to Facebook to plea for information regarding his whereabouts, a plea that resonated widely within the community.
Touchet was last seen around 8:30 PM on April 10 under mysterious circumstances that involved several individuals, including the now-arrested Credeur.
In a poignant post shared by family members on Facebook following the news of her son’s passing, Sanders expressed her profound grief: “With a broken heart, I want to let everyone know my son Brandon is gone, along with his neighbor Beth and friend Eric.” She also mentioned that they are still searching for Credeur’s girlfriend, Cammie Steede, in the hope that she may provide answers to lingering questions, including the whereabouts of Touchet’s cherished dog.
The community has rallied around the affected families, reposting Sanders’ messages thousands of times and offering condolences. Reflecting on the overwhelming support, Sanders remarked: “So many people I never met helped by sharing. I often wondered how a parent can handle the pain. Now we have to learn… He loved us all and we loved him.”
During this challenging time, Sanders has requested privacy and imparted a poignant message: “Hug your children and don’t let go.”
The Lafayette police are diligently working on the case, and further updates will be provided as more details are confirmed..
