An Illinois man, identified as Amarian Graham, has been sentenced to seven years in prison in connection to a 2022 police chase that occurred in Port Washington, Wisconsin. The incident unfolded when Graham, aged 21, attempted to evade law enforcement during a pursuit, ultimately leading to a dramatic sequence of events that culminated in his arrest. Graham was reported to have abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot across all four lanes of I-43 before being apprehended by authorities. The chase came to a dramatic end when Graham crashed into an officer’s parked squad, resulting in his subsequent arrest.
In a court hearing in 2023, Graham pleaded guilty to charges of fleeing police, second-degree recklessly endangering safety, and felony bail jumping. As part of a plea deal with prosecutors, five additional charges were dismissed. In addition to his prison sentence, Graham was also handed a five-year term of extended supervision. His accomplice, Anthony Blan, also from Illinois, was sentenced to two years in prison and two years of extended supervision after pleading guilty to a felony gun charge and THC possession.
The incident took place on October 19, 2022, when an Ozaukee County deputy observed a black Acura speeding on I-43. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Graham, failed to comply with the deputy’s attempts to pull him over, leading to a high-speed chase. Despite law enforcement’s efforts to apprehend Graham, he managed to reach speeds of up to 100 mph before the pursuit was eventually called off. Shortly after, a Port Washington officer reported over the radio that the Acura had collided with his parked squad on the shoulder of the freeway at County Highway H, causing significant damage to the vehicle.
Following the crash, Graham and Blan attempted to flee the scene on foot, prompting the injured officer to pursue them. Graham was eventually located hiding under a large plastic planter, while Blan was apprehended near a nearby restaurant. A search of the Acura revealed multiple bullet holes on the exterior, covered with black tape, and a loaded handgun along with 2.6 grams of marijuana inside the vehicle.
The injured officer was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, while Graham and Blan faced the consequences of their actions in a court of law. The sentencing of both individuals serves as a stark reminder of the repercussions of engaging in criminal activities and endangering the safety of law enforcement personnel and the public..
