A third individual has been apprehended in relation to a drive-by shooting incident that occurred on Magnolia Avenue in Milledgeville earlier this month. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the shooting, although a house and a nearby vehicle sustained damage as a result. The latest suspect, identified as 19-year-old Ahmoud Simmons of Milledgeville, was taken into custody on April 3 by police detectives. He now faces charges including three counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during a crime, criminal damage to property, and providing false information to law enforcement. Simmons is currently being held without bond at the Baldwin County Law Enforcement Center.
This arrest follows the detention of two other suspects involved in the drive-by shooting on April 1 at a residence on Magnolia Avenue. The previously apprehended individuals, Antonio Williams and Nicholas Simpson, both residents of Milledgeville, are also being held without bond. Williams faces charges similar to Simmons, while Simpson is charged with three counts of being party to the crime of aggravated assault.
Authorities have revealed that the investigation into the drive-by shooting case has been supported by special agents from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Gang Task Force, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, and the Georgia State Patrol post in Milledgeville. These agencies collaborated with local law enforcement during and after the incident, including a subsequent manhunt that ensued when one of the suspects was spotted in the Harrisburg neighborhood. A foot chase and a brief vehicle pursuit resulted in the capture of the two suspects.
As of Friday afternoon, officials were still in search of a fourth suspect believed to have been involved in the drive-by shooting. Anyone with information regarding the case is urged to contact the Milledgeville Police Department or Macon Regional Crimestoppers.
