The harrowing ordeal culminated in a standoff between Grunke and the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, resulting in Grunke being found lifeless inside a residence in Albion, near Madison.
In a poignant post on Facebook, the Dane County Sheriff’s deputies disclosed that specialized teams utilized a robot to enter the premises after multiple attempts to establish contact with Grunke. The robot ultimately located Grunke, who had tragically taken his own life.
