BOONE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A shocking incident unfolded on the campus of Appalachian State University on Thursday, leaving a student hospitalized and two individuals in custody following a stabbing.
Details of the Incident
The unsettling event took place just after noon in the vicinity of Peacock Hall, according to reports from App State officials at 12:27 p.m. The suspects, who were involved in the stabbing, reportedly made a swift getaway in a black Toyota convertible immediately after the incident.
Shortly after the incident, at around 12:30 p.m., authorities confirmed that two suspects had been apprehended in connection with the stabbing. One of the individuals was identified as Emmet Cardwell, a 20-year-old student hailing from Durham. The second suspect, also a student at App State, has not yet been formally charged.

Following the stabbing, the injured student received immediate medical attention on-site before being swiftly transported to Watauga Medical Center for further treatment.
