In a shocking incident that unfolded in Bristol, Connecticut, a man was apprehended and charged with Operating Under the Influence (OUI) after colliding with a pedestrian and subsequently crashing in New Britain, as per reports from the state police.
The unsettling occurrence took place at approximately 10:13 p.m. in the vicinity of 192 Pine St. Law enforcement officials revealed that a sedan travelling eastbound on the road struck a pedestrian who was reportedly standing in the roadway at the time of the collision.
Following the collision, the sedan hastily left the scene, leaving the injured pedestrian behind. The victim was swiftly rushed to a nearby medical facility with severe, life-threatening injuries.
State police managed to track down the sedan and its driver after the vehicle was involved in a separate crash on Route 72. Responding to the incident at around 10:19 p.m. near exit 1C on Route 72, troopers discovered that a Mazda Mazda6i had lost control due to excessive speed in adverse weather conditions, careening off the road and hitting a guardrail.

Subsequent investigations linked Cruz to the hit-and-run incident in Bristol, leading to a slew of charges being levelled against him, including OUI, fleeing the scene of an accident involving damage to property, and failure to maintain a lane while driving.
