Man Arrested for Fatal Shooting at North Lauderdale Sports Bar
A tragic incident unfolded at the Players Sports Bar & Grill in North Lauderdale, Florida, last month, resulting in the death of one man and injuries to two others. The Broward Sheriff’s Office has arrested Brandon Neville Shane Roberts, 32, of Deerfield Beach, in connection with the shooting.
The altercation, which escalated into a shooting, took place in the early hours of March 24. Witnesses reported that a fight inside the bar spilled out into the parking lot along U.S. Route 441, also known as State Road 7.
Details of the Incident
Three men were standing in a nearby parking lot when they witnessed the altercation at the bar’s entrance. Moments later, chaos ensued as Roberts allegedly pulled out a firearm and opened fire on the group. The victims, including DeAndre Major, 26, of Fort Lauderdale, suffered gunshot wounds, with Major tragically losing his life as a result.
Two other individuals, Brandon Pinkney, 36, of Coral Springs, and Clarence Hall, 30, of Miami, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the shooting. The injured parties were rushed to Florida Medical Center in North Lauderdale for treatment.
Arrest and Ongoing Investigation
Following intensive investigative efforts, authorities identified Roberts as the prime suspect in the shooting incident. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was apprehended by BSO deputies on March 29 at the BSO Main Jail.
Despite Roberts’s arrest, the investigation into the shooting remains ongoing. Law enforcement officials urge anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist with the case.
