A violent altercation in Evansville, Indiana, has left one man in custody after he allegedly stabbed another man on Saturday afternoon. The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office officials have confirmed the arrest of the suspect involved in the incident.

The incident took place on West Delaware Street in Evansville, Indiana. Police were alerted to the assault in progress at 2:17 p.m. on Saturday and immediately dispatched to the location.
Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement officers spoke to two witnesses who were present during the altercation. The witnesses identified the individuals involved as Kendric Bradshaw and Rashawn Cartwright, also known as “Rips” and “Bloodbath”.

According to the witnesses, the confrontation between Bradshaw and Cartwright escalated in a vacant lot, resulting in Cartwright stabbing Bradshaw in the lower abdomen. Cartwright then pursued Bradshaw for a short distance before returning to an apartment on West Delaware Street.
Bradshaw sustained injuries, including scratches and a contusion on his forehead, consistent with being struck with a flat head screwdriver during the altercation.

Upon returning to the apartment, Cartwright allegedly attempted to assault one of the witnesses with a hammer. Subsequently, a concerned individual contacted the authorities, reporting that Cartwright was holding his aunt and her boyfriend hostage.
Law enforcement officers were able to locate Cartwright hiding inside the apartment, where he was apprehended and taken into custody. Cartwright is currently facing charges of Intimidation, Confinement, Battery, and Battery with a Deadly Weapon in connection with the incident.
