A 19-year-old individual, identified as France Elnar Talino, was apprehended by authorities in Quezon City following a shooting incident. The arrest took place on Seminary Road, Barangay Bahay Toro, on March 22, as reported by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD). Talino was found in possession of over P100,000 worth of suspected crystal meth, also known as shabu, during the operation.
The QCPD’s pursuit of Talino was prompted by a report from one of his victims, known only as Alexander, who claimed to have received a death threat from the suspect. Further investigation revealed that Talino was also a prime suspect in a manhunt operation conducted by the Talipapa Police Station for a shooting incident earlier in the year, as well as a car theft case that occurred back in September 2023.
Upon his arrest, authorities recovered a handgun, ammunition, and approximately 15 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of around P102,000 from Talino. He is currently detained by the police and is set to face formal charges for violating Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act; RA 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002; and charges related to grave threats. These charges will be brought before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office for further legal action.
This incident underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies in Quezon City to address criminal activities and ensure the safety of residents in the area. The collaboration between different police units highlights the importance of coordination and intelligence-sharing in combating crime effectively.
The arrest of France Elnar Talino serves as a reminder of the vigilance and dedication of the authorities in maintaining peace and order in Quezon City. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities to help in the prevention and resolution of criminal incidents in the area..
