Four individuals have been apprehended by the Los Angeles Police Department in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in South L.A., resulting in the death of one individual and the injury of another. The tragic event took place on March 3 in the 12000 block of South Figueroa Street, near the El Diamante Sports Bar, just before 10 p.m.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered two men with gunshot wounds. Joel Villalobos, aged 31, was sadly pronounced dead on-site, while the second victim, identified as 42-year-old Pedro Arias, was rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The LAPD has successfully arrested four suspects believed to be involved in the shooting. These individuals have been identified as Luis Chavez, 47, from Inglewood; Ivan Gonzalez, 21, from Lynwood; Christian Castillo, 18, from Gardena; and Daniel Murillo, 18, also from Gardena. The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation at this time.
According to LAPD Capt. Bennett, the incident took place in close proximity to a sports bar in the area, but the exact circumstances leading up to the shooting are still unclear. Video footage from the scene depicts multiple bullet casings on the ground and a white tent covering the deceased victim as homicide detectives conducted their investigation.
Daniel Murillo was apprehended on March 14 and has been charged with murder and attempted murder. Chavez and Castillo were both arrested on March 19 and have been charged with murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy. Gonzalez, the final suspect, was taken into custody on March 20 and faces charges of conspiracy.
