A shocking incident unfolded in the town of Tirunelveli, where a 23-year-old murder-case accused met his demise while receiving treatment at the Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital. The deceased individual has been identified as K Petchidurai, a resident of Thenthirupuvanam.

According to reports, Petchidurai, along with his accomplice R Chandru, carried out a brutal attack on a road worker named C Karuppasamy near Vellankuli. The duo used a sickle to hack Karuppasamy to death and also injured another worker named A Venkatesh. In a fit of rage, they further caused damage by targeting the windshield of a car and a government bus before attempting to flee the scene.

Law enforcement officers swiftly responded to the heinous crime, with the police constable Senthil being one of the first to confront the perpetrators. In a bid to apprehend the suspects, the police were forced to resort to using their firearms. Petchidurai was shot in the leg during the confrontation, leading to his subsequent arrest.

Following his arrest, Petchidurai was promptly transported to the Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital for urgent medical attention.
