Stock market update: FMCG stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading lower on Monday at 11:25AM

Dangee Dums(up 1.01%), Nakoda Group(up 0.40%), ADF Foods(up 0.16%), Prataap Snacks(up 0.15%), DFM Foods(up 0.07%) and TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 0.01%) were among the top gainers.

Future Consumer(down 2.38%), Emami(down 2.07%), Jyothy Labs(down 1.81%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 1.71%), P & G Hygiene(down 1.68%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 1.54%), Dabur India(down 1.42%), Godrej Consumer Products(down 1.32%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(down 1.27%) and Hindustan Unilever(down 1.22%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 78.55 points down at 16505.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 271.64 points at 55497.59 at around 11:25AM.

Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 2.14%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.51%), JSW Steel(up 1.46%), Bajaj Auto(up 1.37%), Cipla(up 1.05%), NTPC(up 0.77%), Tata Steel(up 0.5%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.33%), SBI Life(up 0.21%) and HDFC(up 0.16%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bajaj Finserv(down 2.75%), Tech Mahindra(down 2.75%), Shree Cement(down 2.66%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.35%), HCL Technologies(down 1.8%), Wipro(down 1.75%), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.69%), Asian Paints(down 1.56%), Infosys(down 1.43%) and Grasim Industries(down 1.43%) were trading in the red.
