Dow's nearly 50-point jump led by gains in Travelers, IBM shares

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Monday afternoon with shares of Travelers and IBM seeing positive momentum for the index. The Dow DJIA, +0.05% was most recently trading 46 points, or 0.1%, higher, as shares of Travelers TRV, +1.60% and IBM IBM, +1.20% are contributing to the blue-chip gauge’s intraday rally. Travelers’s shares have climbed $2.93 (1.7%) while those of IBM have gained $1.78 (1.3%), combining for a roughly 31-point boost for the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the gain include UnitedHealth UNH, +0.94%, Verizon Communications Inc. VZ, +0.85%, undefined Goldman Sachs GS, +0.57%. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components results in a 6.59-point swing.
