Dow's 200-point climb led by gains for shares of Apple Inc., American Express

Behind positive gains for shares of Apple Inc. and American Express, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is climbing Monday morning. The Dow DJIA, +0.90% was most recently trading 205 points, or 0.6%, higher, as shares of Apple Inc. AAPL, +1.64% and American Express AXP, +1.50% have contributed to the index’s intraday rally. Apple Inc.’s shares are up $2.38 (1.6%) while those of American Express are up $2.67 (1.6%), combining for an approximately 33-point bump for the Dow. Also contributing significantly to the gain are Goldman Sachs GS, +1.54%, Cisco CSCO, +1.33%, undefined Visa V, +2.14%. A $1 move in any of the index’s 30 components results in a 6.59-point swing.
